Skill Strike users are not competing against the pros or other amateurs as they would in a typical closest-to-the-pin contest. Rather, they are simply competing against themselves and their algorithm-derived expected shot outcome. This new paradigm is an important distinction from the standard closest-to-the-pin contest that will always favor more consistent players. Skill Strike instantly rewards players’ great shots based on their unique skill level, making every swing an opportunity to win.

Skill Strike is powered by Evenplay’s patented AI technology, developed specifically for Full Swing’s industry-leading simulator platform. (CARLSBAD, Calif.) – Full Swing, the industry leader in pioneering sports technology, recently hosted the inaugural “Ultimate Launch Monitor Challenge” to kick off a new brand campaign for its KIT Launch Monitor.

The Ultimate Launch Monitor Challenge was a first-of-its-kind golf industry event. It was held at California’s Oceanside Sports Complex, a perfectly flat, 52-acre facility that is home to 22 full-size, natural turf soccer fields, making it an ideal launch monitor testing facility. A temporary driving range was built across several of these fields so that three premium launch monitors – Trackman 4, Foresight QCQuad and Full Swing KIT – could simultaneously track shots hit by a former professional golfer.

A team of highly trained spotters was stationed downrange to mark precisely where each shot landed and share those exact coordinates. Once the landing spot was identified, multiple range finders were used to “shoot” the spotter and measure the shot’s true distance. This number was then recorded, as were the carry distances calculated by each of the launch monitors. The three products all had the manufacturers’ latest firmware and Titleist Pro V1x balls were used. A video from the day can be watched here.

(CARLSBAD, Calif.) – Full Swing, the industry leader in pioneering golf launch monitor and simulator technology, announces Clippd’s AI-derived “Shot Quality” scores are now available on the Full Swing app via the new Full Swing Combine.

Premium app subscribers will now have the ability to practice with even more purpose, as all indoor and outdoor shots recorded on the Full Swing KIT Launch Monitor will be scored with a single Shot Quality number between 0 and 200. The overall quality of a user’s Combine practice session will be scored between 0 and 200 as well. To help with benchmarking performance, these scores fall into five categories: 0-49, Needs Work; 50-79, Average; 80-99, Great; 100-120, Tour Level; and 121+, Exceptional.

Shot Quality builds on the advances made by the popular Strokes Gained statistic, but factors in additional layers of all-important context.
